A DRINK FOR THE SEASON: SEASONAL DRINKING AT BOLSA

aDrinkSeason

It’s sunset, a Thursday, and the happy hour roar is in full swing. Eddie “Lucky” Campbell has been a Bolsa drink-slinger for two years. With a fedora on his head and sweat on his brow, Lucky wields a shaker in each hand, rocking the cocktails with all the ferocity of a zealous maraca player. He pulls in multiple drink orders from his regulars without skipping a beat and tries to strike the perfect balance between speedy delivery and attention to quality; after all, this is a guy who refers to certain mint leaves as having “good character.” How long has Lucky been tending bar? “Since I was eleven,” he says with a gruff voice and a wry grin before twisting back to splash out another round. www.bolsadallas.com
