The first of its kind in the nation, the Texas House Farmto- Table Caucus is a 28-member, bipartisan group dedicated to educating the state’s House of Representatives on issues which support family farms and sustainable farming, and connect more Texans to nutritious local foods. The caucus held a regional gathering in June at the Dallas Farmers Market, where North Texas growers and food advocates enjoyed a locally sourced meal prepared by noteworthy chefs Graham Dodds, Sharon Hage, Adam West and Mark Wootton. Caucus members also sponsored a listening session, giving farmers, ranchers and food artisans a forum to express their hopes for legislative change.
