Grilled Okra

recipeGrilledOkra

We all love fried okra, but this famous summer vegetable is even better when lightly charred by a smoky grill. The okra maintains its fresh crispness and is so flavorful that it only needs a touch of salt to serve.

Serves 6

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 8 minutes

2 pounds okra
2 tablespoons grapeseed or canola oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt

Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat.

In a large bowl, toss okra with oil and salt until coated. To prevent okra from falling through the grill grate, skewer it on grill or bamboo skewers.

Place skewers on the grill and cook 3 to 4 minutes a side until lightly charred on both sides. Remove from skewers and serve.
